Security and Investigations Officer

Bank of Africa Kenya has an exciting opportunity in our Security and Investigations Department.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Monitor daily security operations across all branches, ATMs, and Bank facilities.
  • Conduct regular security inspections in branches and offices to confirm compliance with Bank security procedures.
  • Supervise contracted security guards and confirm proper deployment, discipline, and performance.
  • Review guard occurrence books and ensure incidents are reported promptly.
  • Ensure access control procedures are followed in all Bank premises.
  • Monitor CCTV operations and coordinate retrieval of footage when required.
  • Support security planning during cash movements and other high risk operations.
  • Respond to reported security incidents across branches and offices.
  • Record and document all incidents in line with Bank reporting procedures.
  • Ensure incidents are escalated to the Head of Security and relevant management when necessary.
  • Follow up with branches to confirm corrective actions are implemented.
  • Investigate cases involving theft, fraud, staff misconduct, security breaches, or loss of Bank property.
  • Collect and review evidence including CCTV footage, system logs, and witness statements.
  • Interview staff and other persons involved in incidents.
  • Prepare investigation reports outlining findings and recommended action.
  • Support disciplinary or legal processes when investigations require further action.
  • Conduct security risk assessments in branches, offices, and ATMs.
  • Identify weaknesses in physical security controls and recommend improvements.
  • Review security arrangements in new branches before opening.
  • Liaise with police and other security agencies during investigations and incident response.
  • Follow up cases reported to law enforcement until closure.
  • Represent the Bank in security related matters involving external agencies.
  • Ensure branches comply with the Bank’s security policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records of incidents, investigations, and security inspections.
  • Prepare periodic security reports for the Head of Security.
  • Guide staff on security procedures and reporting of suspicious activities.
  • Support awareness sessions on fraud prevention and physical security practices.

Minimum Requirements; Work Experience, Academic and Professional Qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law, or a related field.
  • Professional training in investigations or security management is an advantage.
  • At least 3–5 years experience in security operations or investigations, preferably in the banking or financial sector.
