Team Leader Business Systems
Bank of Africa Kenya has an exciting opportunity in our Information Technology Department.
Job Purpose: To ensure minimal interruption of services by ensuring the stability, reliability and efficiency of all business systems within the bank.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities;
- Risk Management – Mitigate operational risk by ensuring the timely performance of backups and test restores according to the schedule, promptly closing audit findings, and conducting Disaster Recovery tests as scheduled to maintain preparedness and minimize potential disruptions to operations.
- Service Availability – Ensuring continuous uptime and accessibility for all channels and business applications to serve customers and internal users effectively. Proactively limiting unplanned downtime to minimize disruptions and ensuring the bank returns to operational status within the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) in any eventuality.
- Service Desk Management – Effectively resolving raised tickets by closely monitoring the ticket closure process and ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Additionally, liaising with stakeholders for timely ticket resolution and handling escalations when necessary to maintain high service standards and customer satisfaction.
- Project Implementation – Ensuring the successful implementation of IT business systems projects by achieving all project milestones and actively participating in the implementation and testing of projects outside IT as required, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across the organization.
- End-of-Day Batch Processing – Ensuring the successful completion of end-of-day batch processing by overseeing processes on Core Banking, Clearing System, and Recoveries System to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Promptly escalating any issues that may delay batch processing to facilitate timely resolution and maintain operational efficiency.
- Team Management – Ensuring effective team management by providing guidance, training, and support to enhance team effectiveness and efficiency in achieving organizational goals.
- Cost Reduction – Decreasing costs for business systems solutions by ensuring the deployment of cost-effective solutions and renegotiating vendor contracts where applicable to optimize expenditure without compromising quality or functionality.
- Systems Monitoring – Enhancing the efficiency of business systems by proactively identifying areas of inefficiency or bottlenecks and recommending improvements to optimize performance and streamline operations.
Minimum Requirements;
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or IT related field.
- Must have thorough knowledge of linux/unix, Oracle MySQL, MSSQL
- Project Management essential
- Minimum two years’ experience supporting business applications.
